Painted Sky
Amygdala
Painted Sky came together the way most good bands do — by accident and obsession. A rehearsal room, a borrowed guitar, three kids who didn’t know when to quit. Years later, a forgotten note and a voice at the right moment gave everything shape. The name stuck. The sound found its spine.
Amygdala marks a turning point. Named after the part of the brain that processes fear and emotion, it’s a collection of songs that dig deeper — not just sonically, but psychologically. The garage rock roots are still visible, but the band plays with more patience now, more control. Recorded with producer Frithiof Stenvall, the EP feels like a band in motion — rediscovering what they do best.
In 2023, longtime drummer Martin stepped away. It nearly stopped everything. But then came Anton Lindgren from Älvsbyn — a drummer who hits hard and listens harder. His arrival brought a shift, a spark.
Amygdala oozes like a sun-faded tour poster — worn-out denim, crushed velvet, and red solo cups. There’s warmth in the hiss, beauty in the scuff. Four songs that don’t chase the spotlight, but glow with the kind of light you only get at the end of something — or the start of something better.
