After Loving Embers’ recent return with You Say It Like You Mean It, the story moves forward. Lost You is about what happens when you try again with someone you once lost. You know what didn’t work the first time. You step back into it anyway, hoping that honesty can hold. “Let the ocean free,” sings Fredrika Johansson, with the promise to stay no matter what comes pouring out.
The sound is familiar: melancholic, guitar-driven pop blurred with dreamy textures. Vulnerable and strong at once. Imagine Warpaint or The Cardigans stripped down to the bare essentials. The chorus is just a wordless melody. Sometimes words get in the way of meaning.
