Loving Embers

Slow Burn

On their debut album Slow Burn (May 8), Loving Embers push the limits of what a pop quartet can be. Minimal but fluid arrangements carry the weight, from ghostly bass-driven tracks to layers of synths, vocoders, and off-kilter guitars.

Formed in Piteå in 2017, the band returned from a pandemic hiatus by starting over completely. Recorded in a repurposed bakehouse studio in northern Sweden with producer Frithiof Stenvall, Slow Burn leans warm, dry, and intimate.

It’s about memories, first love, and that specific feeling of being left in place while everything else keeps going. The title doesn’t refer to something that burns up or fizzles out, but to feelings that endure and stay.
